PDO SMOOTHING + LIFTING THREADS

Threads encourage collagen growth to lift and smooth specific areas.

We offer two different types of threads: smoothing and lifting. The most common areas for threads we treat are the lips, the jawline, and the neck. Other areas for treatment can be scowl lines and for scarring.

Ideal For: Smoothing, lifting

FAQ

  • Results will vary depending on the area of treatment. Threads for the jawline will typically last 8-12 months. Threads for lip enhancement, neck smoothing, scar treatment, and scowl lines will typically last 6-8 months.

  • Prior to your appointment, we ask that you avoid any blood thinning medications and/or supplements for 3-5 days prior. Examples include aspirin, Advil (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen), fish oil, garlic, green tea, turmeric, ginger, and ginkgo. Avoiding alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior may help decrease bruising. Taking arnica tablets for 3 days prior to your appointment may also be beneficial to help reduce bruising and swelling. Schedule PDO threads 2-3 weeks prior to any important upcoming event. Avoid all dental work 2 weeks prior and 2-3 weeks post-treatment.

  • What is the post-treatment care? Within the first 24 hours, it is important to keep the Band-Aid over the entry site and to not apply skincare or makeup. Avoid laying on your back or stomach for 4 hours after the procedure to decrease the possibility of the movement of threads. Attempt to sleep on your back for 3-5 days to prevent movement. All strenuous exercise should be avoided for ~2 weeks. It is common to feel tugging and soreness in the treated area.

  • Possible side effects include bruising or swelling at the injection site. Thread bunching, extrusion, and migration can occur. It is recommended to consult your provider if there is need for intervention.

  • Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, have acute illness or autoimmune deficiencies, have a bleeding disorder, or have keloid or hypertrophic scarring should not get PDO threads.
